Nico Rosberg isn’t ruling out Ferrari entirely, but he seems confident that the Italian outfit won’t be challenging Mercedes often during the 2015 season.
The German, who was involved in a season-long battle with team-mate and eventual victor Lewis Hamilton, believes the year will likely see a repeat of their dominance.
“I am fully optimistic and believe it will be a duel with Lewis against me again,” Rosberg told Germany’s Bild newspaper.
Mercedes saw some competition from both Williams and Red Bull, with the latter taking three wins, but Ferrari rarely factored in the battle for the lead.
When asked if he sees Sebastian Vettel as a potential title contender with Ferrari, Rosberg replied: “Sebastian will see my taillights on many occasions.
“I don’t want to appear arrogant but if I go by the 2014 results, I can risk it all and say no to a Ferrari challenge – although one should never fully write them off,” he added.
