McLaren has confirmed its 2016 Formula 1 car has passed the mandatory FIA crash tests.
The team is the latest to reveal the news, following recent announcements from Toro Rosso, Force India, Mercedes and Sauber.
The MP4-31 is the second car produced by the Woking-based outfit to use Honda’s V6 Turbo power unit.
F1 cars require homologating by the FIA before hitting the track for the first time. The news was confirmed by McLaren on Twitter.

Pre-season testing kicks off at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the 22 February, with the event lasting four days. The second test is from the 1-4 March.
Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button remain at McLaren for a second season as team-mates. The team’s 2016 challenger will be unveiled on the 21 February, just prior to the start of winter testing.
